This week, we’re looking at change from every angle: how education is struggling to keep up, what real leadership looks like in action, and how to stay future-ready when disruption hits.

1️⃣ Education Is in Crisis – But Policy Won’t Fix It.

Education is in crisis – not because teachers aren’t trying hard enough, but because we’re asking passionate, exhausted people to keep patching up a system built for another century. The world has changed faster than our schools, and it’s leaving everyone – educators, learners and parents – feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure what to do next.

We’re inviting 25 schools to join us as founding members as we begin an experiment in reimagining education together. This isn’t another program or pile of resources. It’s a mindset shift – a journey of small, brave steps that help schools move from knowing change is needed to doing something about it.

If you’re a school head, teacher, or parent who wants to be part of the change, rather than complaining about what’s not working, please join the waitlist here, and we’ll be in touch.

2️⃣ When Disruption Hits: Are You Future-Ready for 2026?

This past weekend, 24,000 runners were stopped an hour before the Cape Town Marathon due to extreme weather – a stark reminder that disruptions we once called “someday” are now today. In this week’s episode of ThrowForward Thursday, Graeme Codrington explores the visible and invisible shifts shaping 2026, from climate disruption to trust erosion, and how teams can reframe turbulence as opportunity.

And some good news: for those of you who are feeling like holding it all together has become your job description, you’re not alone. Graeme is hosting a public keynote on 7 November, sharing how leaders can move beyond resilience – and build teams that actually thrive through disruption. Reserve your spot here!

3️⃣ The Real Art of Leadership? Setting Change on Fire – Ignite Tuesdays with Dean van Leeuwen.

Change is hard, and most initiatives fail. Yet our ability to adapt is humanity’s superpower. In his IGNITE series, Dean van Leeuwen explores the sparks that make strategy inevitable: moments when change flows instead of falters, and leadership turns intention into action. No jargon – just stories, insights, and experiments to help you decode what makes change ignite. Read the first Ignite story here.

4️⃣ We need your help!

If you haven’t done so already, Graeme needs your help to get him on the Top 30 Futurists List.

One of the world’s best-ranking organisations, Global Gurus Top 30, is preparing its 2026 lists, and although he’s largely ignored these types of ranking lists over the years, our team thinks this one would be a good one for him to be on. Graeme agrees.

Global Gurus’s list of Top ranked Futurists for 2025 was a who’s who of some of our favourite futurists (many of whom Graeme is honoured to call friends). He would like to be on that list in 2026.

So – if you think Graeme deserves to be on the Top 30 Futurists 2026 list, please would you go to the voting page and add his name – it takes just 30 seconds. On the right-hand side, you scroll down through the 2025 list, click “Other guru” and add Graeme’s name (Graeme Codrington) in the box that will open. It’s as simple as that.  It does seem like it is tough to do on a mobile phone, so perhaps best to use your laptop.) Thank you!

5️⃣ Ten Things Leaders Can Do to Develop Their Skills.

MBAs look great on LinkedIn, but real leadership growth happens in the trenches, not the classroom. Here’s a fantastic list of ten things leaders can do to improve themselves – no certificate required. Honestly, do all ten! It’s a great list.

If you’re ready to explore how your school, team, or organisation can step confidently into the future, we’d love to hear from you.

At TomorrowToday, we work with leaders, educators, and teams to navigate change, rethink systems, and build strategies that actually work for the world we’re in – not the world we used to know.
