Sometimes the biggest shifts in leadership and life come from seeing things differently, not doing more. This week’s roundup includes reflections, stories, and conversations that invite just that: a different way of seeing. From unconscious bias to bold innovation, there’s something here that might stay with you.

🔍 The real shift in leadership isn’t what we do — it’s how we see.

As our team’s leadership thinker, Keith Coats, recently shared: “There is ‘us’ and then there is the ‘them’ – the ‘other’. We make sense of the world by splitting it into categories: The execs vs the frontline; Our team vs that team.’

We all “other” without realising it. But leading in complexity means challenging those assumptions and doing the inner work. This reflection from a recent CNEXT Generate session that Keith facilitated is a powerful read for any leader navigating change.

👉 CNEXT have generously shared their summary of the session for other leaders facing these issues, which you can access here; and read Keith’s recent ‘Us and Them’ article if you haven’t already read it. 😉

🤖 GenAI are not AI, they are IA – Intelligent Assistants.

Apple Research recently released the results of some tests they’ve been running on GenAI models. The results are no surprise to those of you who follow our work at TomorrowToday Global. Our team has been saying for two years now that GenAI are not AI, they are IA – intelligent assistants, at best. An expensive auto-correct even! They’re good at analysing existing information, but they’re not intelligent, they don’t think and they’re not learning.

Graeme shared a great summary of the Apple Research from Stephen Klein on LinkedIn here – an important read for leaders committed to leading in this age of AI.

💡 What Factfulness Taught One Leader About Bias and Opportunity.

A reflection from Luis S. Cisneros, who recently read Factfulness’ after Keith Coats recommended it during a leadership workshop at the London Business School. It’s a great reminder of how often we rely on outdated narratives or gut feel, even when the data tells a different story. The book challenges us to look again at how we see global change, growth markets, and even the way we make decisions inside big organisations. Worth a read if you haven’t yet.

🔄 Resilience used to be enough, but not anymore.

Today’s best leaders don’t just bounce back – they bend, learn, and come out stronger. When crisis hits, some burn out trying to control everything, others just survive, but the anti-fragile leader adapts and grows through disruption. This mindset isn’t about defending the old way; it’s about using stress as fuel to move forward.

Curious how anti-fragile leadership is reshaping the future? I’d be happy to set up a time for you to meet with Keith to chat through what he’s seeing and how he’s helping leadership teams around the world adapt and thrive in their leadership roles.

If any of this sparked something for you, whether it’s how your team’s navigating change or how your organisation is thinking about resilience, we’d love to chat. Our keynotes and workshops on leadership and antifragility are designed to offer fresh insight and practical direction.
