MTV have never been scared of controversy, but a recently scrapped set of adverts pushes their bravery boundaries in a wonderful way. Check out the images, and the message below.

These are brave ads from MTV. I believe that they were pulled in the USA – no surprise there. Its amazing how terrorism does exactly what it is supposed to – strikes fear into people, and through emotions changes their view of the world. If only images of starving children, AIDS hospices and the 2 billion or so people who survive on less than $1 a day could do the same to unite the world in their efforts to "make poverty history".
In this Connection Economy we keep talking about, companies that understand that they are not merely economic institutions, but social and emotional ones, too, and start acting on that fact, will gain a great advantage in the world. Maybe they won’t move rapidly up through the ranks of the Fortune 500, but maybe they will be able to outlast many of the current incumbents. Its interesting that less than 50 of the Fortune 500 from 1950 are still in business! That should scare a lot of corporates more than it does.
