In an age where we have to be able to talk to people; and all sorts of people, my feeling is that we can learn a lot from horses. Most people find them intimidating, because of their physical strength, but they could not be more wrong. 99% of horses, treated right, are all heart; and are not only amongst the most gentle creatures I know of, but can also make fantastic mentors.

A horse doesn’t care how much you know, until he knows how much you carePat Parelli

Having a relationship with a horse has been the most extraordinary thing for me. I have always wanted one; and so at 34 I took up riding for the first time in my life. I have been fortunate enough to have had the most extraordinary teacher called Torlandro, but not all of my learning has been easy – and I am not talking about the 12 or 13 times I have fallen off him in the last two years.

Torlandro certainly mirrors me. When I am feeling confident he senses it, conversely when I am not, he knows. But more importantly, he has taught me about leadership, ownership, decision-making, commitment and assertiveness.

TomorrowToday offers training that involves horse-whispering; and in my opinion it would be a life-changing experience for any group of people wanting to learn about themselves and the people that they work closely with.

To get a sense of what I am talking about there are lots of wonderful videos on YouTube. Monty Roberts is one of the most well-known and well-respected practitioners of horse-whispering. Otherwise watch below.
