Life is slowly going back to some form of normalcy, somewhat. Health restrictions are loosening all over the world, borders are reopening, and live events are coming back. However, there is still a grey cloud hanging over us and a sense that it is not yet blue skies and sunshine. The war in Eastern Europe and the rising price of fuel, food, energy, and anything else you can think of isn’t helping to give us a feeling of relief just yet. As a matter of fact, for many people the current reality is just compounding on the impact the last 2 years have had.

People are tired and if we are honest with ourselves, we are tired! Not that ‘I have just run up a flight of stairs’ kind of tired but the Fatigue kind. The kind that makes it difficult to get up to sit on yet another virtual call or meeting. The kind that makes us dread what we used to enjoy about work, the traveling, the connecting with others and doing creative work. Fatigue is a real thing and for some of us it is going to require us to take some time to reset, by taking some much- needed R&R time, getting therapy or whatever it is that fills your energy bucket.

Apart from this we also need to take time to re-examine and unleash a winning attitude when it comes to our work and life.

“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude
you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”
– Khalil Gibran

Attitude affects everything! The way you see the world has more to do with your attitude than it has to do with the world itself. Attitude is a big part of unleashing your greatness because it
determines the way you see the world, which in turn affects how you perform in that world. You
will never find a person who has amassed great success in any field without a winning attitude.
Attitude is essential because you cannot control the events that will happen to you in the world
but with a great attitude you are able to control how you respond to those events.

So how can you use your attitude to defeat fatigue and unleash your greatness in your work
and life again?

How To Unleash a Winning Attitude:

1. Decide How You Show up: Richard Bach says, “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” It’s about taking control of your mindset because it sets the tone for how you act. Only you can decide how you show up every day. If you have lost your confidence and drive along the way, it’s time for you to get it back. It’s time for you to remind yourself what you are capable of and let the real you show up again. In other words, it’s time for you to ‘Be Who You Be, Maaaan!’ And step up to the plate.

2. Choose to Be a Thermostat: ‘Attitude is the internal thermostat that controls your internal
condition which affects your output!’ What a revelation this was for me! I have a choice, to be a thermometer merely reflecting the conditions around me; or I can choose to be a thermostat and control my response to whatever condition I find myself in. You must choose to be a thermostat and let a winning attitude guide your approach to work and life. Take control of your own attitude and don’t let your circumstances dictate your reality.

3. Believe in Yourself: “My Victory Begins the Moment I Believe That I Have What It Takes,
That I Am Enough.” Believing in yourself is not just about a sense of self-importance or arrogance, it is about embracing who you are and can be. It is deciding that you will no longer make excuses for yourself, but you will go out and use what you already have been given to have a full life. This period might have made you feel like you are just doing your best to survive, it’s time for you to get out of survival mode and believe in your true potential. It’s time to unleash your full potential and your greatness again. Believe in your talent, your ability, your creativity, your leadership and let it shine again. The world awaits.
