MemeBurn is one of my regular ‘watering holes’ for information I find interesting. They featured a post today detailing Africa’s rise on FaceBook (Africa is the fastest growing Facebook continent)

Last year I posted ‘FaceBook’s new Mobile Site’ which is probably one of the big reasons Africa is on the rise, simply that in many African countries FaceBook is free, via their mobile orientated site 0.facebook.

The observation I found really interesting from the MemeBurn post was:

Four of the top six positions are occupied by North African countries that are currently experiencing political turmoil, reflecting the fact that Facebook has been a key organisational tool for the protestors. Those countries in the top six are Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
